Last weekend, I spent a day in AC with bro-in-law Marc, Alceste, and Mary. Somehow, I cannot get into the mood to write about it. Suffice it to say that I lost about $365, with $200 in losses from NLHE cash games and $165 in losses from tournaments. I started off playing well before near-bubbling my first tournament of the day (after being in 2nd place shortly before my bustout). Then I played a second tournament where I eventually fell to a coin toss. Then I played the cash games, where I initially played like shit, and then got my shit together in time to win some money back. Ultimately, though, it was just not my day. And that may be the most I have to say on the subject. We shall see.
But this is a half-assed post, mostly because I feel like posting. Outside of poker, all is going fairly well in my world. The job continues to job along. Wifey Kim continues to be a paragon of virtue and a P.O.A. Yep. Fine times for Ole’ Jordan. Fine times indeed.
I have added my buddy Jefe’s blog, Hook Line & Sinister, to the blogroll. Jefe likes to basically write about shit that is pissing him off, which makes for a great read most of the time. Its kinda ironic too, since I don’t think of him as a complainer or ranter, but the Internet has a way of bringing out the best (or worst) in people.
I also am knee deep in reviving a pet project I started a good year+ ago. One of wifey Kim’s friends had a pool party. While at the party, wifey Kim’s friend’s husband, Tarter, and I got into a conversation about working for a living. We both agreed that being independently wealthy was better, and barring that, being one’s own boss was doable. I brought up my old website idea (which I do not wish to disclose here just yet), and he liked it. Within a week, he had secured us a kid in Arkansas who was willing to build the site for a couple of hundred bucks and the project is now off the ground. The site is being built to our specifications. After that, we will have to build content and then comes the hard part, getting users/readers. Hopefully, when that time comes, I can rely on some of you to help me out, try the site, and maybe even throw up a link. Of course, I’d be happy to reciprocate. But that’s all for the future. Right now, I just want this site to be built. Hopefully, if we build it, they will come.
Incidentally, the site has nothing to do with poker, but it could be applied to poker situations. It may also be a useful tool for blogs, but that is yet to be seen.
Whatever the case, in the meanwhile, I will continue to toil away at the tables, both live and online, work hard at my day job, and continue developing the site. All for the love of freedom.
Until next time, make mine poker!
