Mean, it was a real pleasure. It's good to meet someone else who can dish it and take it. FYI for all readers, Mean was kicking some ass in the Hoy and he made a joking comment after I took 2 or so hands off of him that I was destined to bust him. The Highlander references came out, and ultimately, his prophecy came true. I then missed the final table by one person. But all in all, a good time.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one with attention deficit while playing online. Live games are much easier to stay focused... (plus I have 3 kids under the age of 5... so when online, I end-up either playing with them creeping into the computer room to distract, or I play very late after they are asleep when I am a bit tired myself).

After taking a few minutes to find the button to push for comments... I just wanted to say I thoroughly enjoyed the MatH tourney last night.

Thanks for all the ribbing and for making "my wildest dreams come true" by knocking my ass out, in prophetic fashion.

Why I didn't see you at the final table with all of my hard-earned chips remains a mystery... but as you know who says...

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!!!

I can sit at a table and concentrate while folding hands for 3 hours. At an online table, I've got about 5 minutes of folding before I get distracted by just about any movign object in my line of sight.

"Checking out mentally" is the perfect way to put it...

Do you find that you do it more online, v. in live games???

My mind can easily wander when I am playing online. Being at the table helps keep me engaged.

Chi_town, one of my comments in chat yesterday was that my brain kept freezing and I'd lose my stack on one hand in the several tourneys I played. It was like clockwork. Consistency has been my biggest shortcoming. I'll play well and then just sort of check-out mentally and play a hand automatically. Invariably, I lose in these situations.

Bad beats happen. Sorry about that. But in the other instances, guys like you and me have to remember to take each decision very seriously. If we do any less, we are only hurting ourselves, in the present tourney and in the next 2, or so it seems.

I have to say, I also like your recaps... It helps look at some things happenning with my play and think about the process and results.

My losing streak continues... I was sucked out in three SnGs that broke me or crippled me (QQ against a 8sJh2s flop, I made a pot size raise against a single opponent who called, Td on the turn... went all-in and was called by A8o... you know it... an 8 hit the river). I had three of these kinds of beats. It was brutal.

FRUSTRATED, I jumped up in stakes and played a 4th SnG. Was 2nd in chips with 4 players left. Picked up TT and raised 3x's the BB. One caller from the BB. Flop was 7x8sQs. Checked to me and I bet out little more than half the pot... BB called. Turn was a blank and checked to me so I bet half the pot. Was reraised all-in. For some reason, I just called without a thought, and showed down my TT against AQ.

WTF was I doing??? I didn't stop to think. I just went F'it. He check called on the flop. Was he drawing, or trapping??? Then he re-raised all-in. That should have been it. He had to be trapping, right... I just bone-headed it with an overcard on the board. I hate the bad beats, but I LOATHE my stupid plays. I almost ran out into traffic... Negative emotions can spiral and lead to a bad place.

Thanks for listenning.
